Privacy Policy

Naturally Serene Massage Therapy is a holistic therapy provider, located in Yeovil, Somerset that offers various massage therapy services to the general public. I am an ITEC qualified member of the Federation of Holistic Therapists. Privacy of personal information is an important principle to Naturally Serene Massage Therapy and I, Justine Antoska, am the only data controller. I am committed to collecting, using and disclosing personal information responsibly and only to the extent necessary for the goods and services I provide. This document describes my privacy policy.

Personal information is information about identifiable individuals. Personal information includes information that relates to: 

• an individual's personal characteristics (e.g., gender, age, home address or telephone number, family status);  health (e.g., health history, health conditions, health services received by them);  
• activities and views (e.g., opinions expressed by an individual, an opinion or evaluation of an individual).

The primary purpose for collecting personal information is to provide treatment for my clients. I collect information about a client's health history, physical condition and function, in order to help me assess what their health needs are, to advise them of their options and then to provide the treatment they choose to have. A second primary purpose is to obtain a baseline of health and social information so that in providing on going health services I can identify changes that occur over time. I will NEVER disclose any personal information to any third parties, with the exception of my responsibility to report information suggesting serious illegal behaviour to the authorities.  

Clients may have questions about the goods or services I provide after they have been received. I retain my client information for a minimum of ten years after the last contact to enable me to respond to those questions and provide these services, if required, in the future.

In addition, I will only contact a client to advise of services they may be interested in based on previous appointment history and if they have subscribed to my newsletter with express consent. The option to unsubcribe is available at all times. Clients will be asked for express, written permission in the event that I would like to use any photographs or reviews on my Facebook page or webite that were not already published by the client. 

My property is covered by CCTV for the purpose of personal safety and property protection and will not be passed to third parties unless to report a criminal offence.

I do not collect any Personally Identifiable Information when browsing my site. I may, however, collect information such as time of day, browser type and IP address. This information is used to make improvements on my website. There is also a notification that informs the user of the use of cookies on the website.  When you book an appointment online, I only collect personal information necessary to provide you with the appointment and service you have requested.

I understand the importance of protecting personal information. For that reason, I have taken the following steps: 

• Paper information is either under supervision or secured in a locked or restricted area. 
• Electronic hardware is either under supervision or secure in a locked or restricted area at all times. In addition, passwords are used on computers.  

I need to retain personal information for some time to ensure that I can answer any questions the client may have about the services provided and for my own accountability to external regulatory or governmental bodies. I destroy paper files containing personal information by shredding. I destroy electronic information by deleting it and when the hardware is discarded, I ensure that the hard drive is physically destroyed.

You have the right to see what personal information I hold about you. I can help you identify what information I may have about you. I will also try to help you understand any information you do not understand (e.g., short forms, technical language, etc.). I will ask you to put your request in writing and will need you to confirm your identity before providing you with this access by means of photo ID. I reserve the right to charge a nominal fee for such requests. If you believe there is a mistake in the information, you have the right to ask for it to be corrected. This applies to factual information and not to any professional opinions I may have formed. I may ask you to provide documentation that my files and information are incorrect. Where we agree that there is a mistake, I will make the correction. If we do not agree that I have made a mistake, I will still agree to include in my file a brief statement from you on the point.
